Lieutenant Kevin Johnson started his law enforcement career as a New York City Police Officer, where he was assigned to the 47 precinct in the Bronx until December of 1992, when he transferred to the Irvington Police Department.
During his tenure as an Irvington patrol officer Kevin had obtained certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and continues to participate with the department’s bike unit and the multi-jurisdictional marine unit. In the fall of 2006, Kevin was assigned to the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force and was subsequently promoted to Detective. As a member of this multi-jurisdictional team Kevin has been part of hundreds of investigations within the village and in its neighboring jurisdictions; including homicides, robberies, burglaries, narcotic and gun investigations. In 2014 Kevin was awarded one of Westchester County’s top police honors for his work on a wiretap investigation which led to the recovery of 22 firearms, multiple kilos of cocaine and the seizure of over a million dollars in cash drug proceeds.
Kevin was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2017 and has received specialized training in multiple facets of law enforcement such as dignitary protection, death investigation, advanced interview and interrogations, missing /abducted persons and financial crimes. He has received numerous awards and citations from Irvington and multiple police organizations.
Kevin is married and a father to four children.
