“Manhattan Short”

The 17th Annual “MANHATTAN SHORT" Film Festival runs from September 26 to October 5, 2014 in over 300 cities across six continents -- and Irvington, NY is one of the places you can catch the top ten finalists! We will be screening and voting on our favorites this Saturday night, September 27th at 7:30 pm.

Festival Founding Director Nicholas Mason will be at Irvington Town Hall Theater to introduce the films and kick off our new season. The evening will include giveaways that include an ipod Touch generously donated by DoctorMac here in Irvington.

Immediately following the screening, La Chinita Poblana Restaurant (61 Main Street in Irvington, NY) will be hosting a fabulous after-party for "Manhattan Short” patrons with free appetizers and a cash bar.

Irvington Stage Door Series

Welcome to the Irvington Stage Door – a new series where works in progress are presented to our patrons in a relaxed setting without sets, costumes, or props. It's all about the words at the Stage Door -- complete with a talk-back session with the creative team where your voice can be heard.

The first in our series is the play “Birthday Pie”...a Bourbon-Laced, Sweet, Southern, Dramedy by Arthur Wooten. Bert Martindale is about to die; and to show her concern, his wife Trudy Lee, decides to throw a birthday party for her favorite son, Lex. When the entire kin reunite, sixty years’ worth of anger, resentments and jealousies bubble up to the surface. But as tears turn to laughter and secrets dissolve into confessions, it’s Lex’s heartbreaking reveal that makes for bittersweet farewells in this moving portrait of the all-American family.

Be sure to take advantage of the theater's special “Order Online and Save $$” offer this year! Get tickets online at www.irvingtontheater.com at a discounted rate from purchasing at the door.
