[ARCHIVED] Arbor Day Tree Planting Celebration on Saturday April 26th at 11 AM.

The members of the Irvington Tree Preservation Commission, with the help of Mayor Brian Smith and our Village Arborists, The Care of Trees, invite you to cheer us on as we plant a tree to celebrate Arbor Day this year!

The celebration will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. We’ve chosen a spot near the middle of the Main Street Historic District, on the east side of South Dutcher Street near the corner of Main Street. The Care of Trees will plant a new small tree in the space by the sidewalk. Mayor Smith will read a Proclamation, and TPC members will be on hand to give out tree-related information, temporary “Trees Are Good” tattoos and answer questions that anyone might have.

Arbor Day is observed throughout the nation – let’s join together here in Irvington in recognition of our tree-planting ways. Irvington has been recognized as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for more than 30 years. We are known for the many trees that add beauty and vibrancy to our community. Trees are a source of joy – come share in it! And be inspired to plant a tree yourself!
