I have some important information relating to a project that I discussed in my last issue of “From the Mayor’s Desk.” The River Road Reconstruction project (the road that leads to Scenic Hudson Park) is reaching a very important phase. The contractor will be taking up the old cobblestone roadway to get ready for the new road to be built. Because of the very narrow roadway, that process will be very disruptive to the area. There will be short but frequent closures of the road. I expect the contractor to start working at 5 a.m. each day, starting tomorrow (7/27), and continuing through next week (8/2).
I’m asking that you avoid the area if you can. If you need to visit Scenic Hudson Park, leave yourself extra time. If you’re visiting one of the restaurants over the weekend, consider parking in the north lot at Bridge Street Properties or even at the train station.
I realize this is an inconvenience, but it is a very important project. I’m sure we will all be pleased with the results once the project is completely finished in about 3 weeks or so.
