In 2020, the Village Board made the important decision to ban the use of gas-powered leaf blowers, effective December 2023. That decision was made with the well-being of our community and the environment in mind, giving residents and contractors significant lead-time to prepare for the transition.
After careful consideration and review, the Village Board has decided to move forward with the ban on gas-powered leaf blowers as scheduled. The ban will officially go into effect on December 16, 2023, as previously planned.
While many residents and contractors have already made the switch to electric or battery-powered leaf blowers, some have not. For those who are still in the process of making the transition, please explore eco-friendly alternatives, such as mulching your leaves in place.
