It is that time of year again!
We will once again be preparing Thanksgiving Meals for Senior Citizens and Families in our community who can use some help during the holiday season. How can you help? We are looking for individuals or families interested in making a home delivery on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021.
Based on the enormous success of lasts years’ program we anticipate delivering as many as 200 dinners to as many as 75 different locations. .
We are so grateful and excited to once again offer this traditional event on Thanksgiving Day!
Each delivery includes a complete Thanksgiving Dinner and desert. Many of the locations are homes of senior citizens and all are Irvington and school; district families in need.
Funds to cover the expenses for this project come from donations.
However, we can also still use some additional financial help for the event. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please have him or her reach out to me at 914-760-8657. The Irvington FACE Committee will also contribute financial assistance for this important project. Checks may be made payable to the Village of Irvington and sent in care of the Irvington Recreation and Parks Department, 71 Main St, Irvington NY 10533.

The schedule for volunteers who will be making deliveries will be similar to last year. Delivery volunteers will come to Scenic Hudson Park and stay in their vehicles. Volunteers and Staff working for us will direct you as to what to do once you enter the park. The meals and all needed information will be brought right to your car. We will need to space delivery Pickups out over a longer window this year. We expect to sign people up from 11:30am to 12:30pm
Once you have your meal you will simply go to the location assigned to you and make the delivery..

If you know of a family or Senior Citizen who is in need of a meal, please let us know. We will find a way to provide a meal to everyone on our list!
