With snow in the forecast for Thursday, I am reminding all residents of the requirement to remove snow and ice from adjacent sidewalks. This is required by the Village Code (Article VI of Chapter 184).
The exact requirements vary somewhat depending on the location of the sidewalk. Residents of the Main Street area must remove snow by 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. whether or not the snow is still falling. Sidewalks in locations outside of the Main Street area must remove snow within 12 hours after the snow ceases falling.
