[ARCHIVED] Christmas Tree Lighting This Evening

Hello neighbors,

What a week this has been - I am so happy that I was able to light the Menorah with Rabbi Silverman to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah and tonight I have the great privilege to light the Village Christmas tree.

For decades, in good times and in times of challenge, we have have gathered for this ceremony.  The lighting this year, like everything else this year, is different.  There are no Main Street Singers to entertain us nor the Irvington Fire Company to warm us with hot chocolate. Even more importantly, none of you can join me, except virtually.  I hope that the light from the tree brightens your night and the entire holiday season for you.  Once again, I would like to thank the Beautification Committee, the Garden Club, the Recreation and Parks Department staff, the Department of Public Works staff and Morabito Electric for their tremendous work "greening" the Village and making it so festive.

So, please join me with Father Ashman and Reverend Evans as we light the Christmas tree, and officially kickoff my favorite time of the year.

The video will be available starting at 7:30 pm tonight using the following link:

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Merrily,
