[ARCHIVED] Recreation & Parks Department - “Invasive Species Volunteer Day in the Irvington Woods Park”

Irvington Recreation and Parks Department announces The Irvington Woods Committee in partnership with the Irvington Green Policy Task Force

“Invasive Species Volunteer Day in the Irvington Woods Park”

Help our woods be healthier by removing  invasive vines and Japanese barberry bushes from along our trails!

Saturday December 12th

9:30 am – 11:30 am vine cutting

11:30 am – 1:30 pm barberry removal

Rain date Sunday December 13th

To make sure we can keep everyone safe we will limit the number of volunteers for the day.  Pre-registration is required.

If you are interested, please visit www.gomotionapp.com/nyvoi and register for this program. You may sign up for one or both shifts.

Once you register, you will receive more details and directions for the day. There are Waivers and COVID-19 information you must agree to when registering.

You cannot participate if you are not registered.  We supply tools and training, but if you have tools, you are welcome to bring them.

This is the first of what we hope will be an on-going attempt to help our woods heal!

Please join us.

***  For vine cutting, adult or teen (16 and older) volunteers with some skill are preferred.     For barberry bush removal, 10 or older welcome with adult supervision!
