Acting under the authority of the local State of Emergency, Mayor Brian Smith issued Executive Orders in response to the ongoing public health crisis related to the COVID-19 virus as follows:
- Executive Order No. 2020-01 - March 16, 2020 - Access to Public Buildings
To protect the public and staff, there will be no public access to the I.K. Benjamin Community Center, Senior Citizens Center, DPW Offices, Water Department Offices, Irvington Public Library, and Village Hall (Village Administrator, Clerk/Treasurer, Building Inspector, Theater, and Justice Court) effective March 17, 2020.
- Executive Order No. 2020-02 - March 16, 2020 - Use of Playgrounds and Basketball Court
To protect the visitors to our parks and reduce the opportunities for gathering spots, the playground located in Matthiessen Park, the playground located in Station Road Park, and the playgrounds and basketball court located in Scenic Hudson Park will be closed to public use effective March 17, 2020.
- Executive Order No. 2020-03 - March 17, 2020 - Alternate Side of the Street Parking
To better facilitate residents of the Village of Irvington who are working from home or are otherwise not reporting to their regular place of work, all alternate side of the street parking regulations, as implemented in 213-10K and 213-10L of the Village Code, are hereby suspended effective March 18, 2020.
