Mayor Brian C. Smith declared a local State of Emergency in response to the ongoing public health crisis related to the COVID-19 virus. The declaration gives Mayor Smith broad powers to take actions necessary to protect the public during this crisis. Below is the text of the State of Emergency declaration:
Based on the current public health crisis related to the COVID-19 virus and in anticipation of a significant threat to public safety, pursuant to New York State Executive Law, Article 2-B, Section 24, I, Brian C. Smith, Mayor and Chief Executive of the Village of Irvington, hereby declare a State of Emergency, effective at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020, which will remain in effect until further notice.
