[ARCHIVED] TRAFFIC ALERT: Main Street and South Buckhout Street

Main Street
Con Edison will be making repairs to the sidewalks along Main Street at various locations from Broadway down to Ferris Street. The patches will permanently repair sections that were disturbed during their gas main replacement project last year. Expect some parking to be unavailable. Pedestrians may be directed around areas where work is being done.

Also as a follow up to last year's gas main replacement project, Con Edison has scheduled permanent roadway restoration and paving to take place starting next week. Again, the area is on Main Street (from Broadway to Ferris Street), portions of the side streets in that area, along with a section of Broadway itself. The work is expected to last approximately 3 weeks. Parking may be limited in some areas while work is being done. Although 2 lanes of traffic will be maintained, motorists should expect delays when traveling through the area.

South Buckhout Street
Con Edison is continuing with the replacement of a gas main on West Clinton Avenue and now on to South Buckhout Street. Parking is expected to be limited as the construction proceeds down South Buckhout Street. In addition, since the roadway is very narrow, traffic may need to be stopped at various times to allow construction vehicles to maneuver. Motorists should avoid the area, if possible. Expect significant delays when traveling through the area. Construction is expected to continue for at least a few more weeks.
