[ARCHIVED] New Bulk Waste Pick-up Fee

Starting on January 2, 2018, the Village will be charging a fee to pick up bulk garbage items.  Bulk garbage is defined as material (not recycling) that is too large to be placed in a garbage can.  Such items include furniture or excessive amounts of household garbage, too voluminous to place in a garbage can. The fee is $25 per pick-up.  As has always been the case, no appointment is needed. Simply leave the bulk items out with your regular garbage.  The bulk items will be picked up and a bill will be sent by the Village Treasurer.

As mentioned previously, there is no fee to dispose of bulk recyclable items.  These items include all bulk metal, appliances, refrigerators & freezers, air conditioners, televisions, computers, monitors, ALL electronic equipment, metal tools, barbeques (no propane tanks).  Disposal of bulk recycling requires an appointment with collection occurring on Thursdays. Requests must be received by noon on Wednesday for a pick-up on Thursday.

For information on how to recycle bulk items or to schedule a pick-up, call 591-6044 or e-mail gnilsson@irvingtonny.gov.

For bulk waste items that are in good condition, residents are encouraged to use a variety of services and techniques to avoid incurring the pick-up fee.  Donations to charitable organizations or furniture share locations are among the options available.
