[ARCHIVED] From the Mayor's Desk.....June 30, 2017 (Part 2)

Proving once again I am human

While a corrected version was quickly sent, earlier today in my From the Mayor’s Desk email I incorrectly said Steven Caporal retired from the Irvington Department of Public Works.  It was of course Carl and Peter, not Steven and Peter.  I guess it could have been worse, I could have said it was Peter and (Village Historian and my former Spanish teacher) Nina Caporal-Dawson that retired.  Anyway, I apologize to Carl and wish all the Caporals the best.   They are a special family that has done a lot for the Village and I should get their names correct.

The School District recently sent out the information below regarding the upcoming special election:

If you are not already a registered voter, you may do so at the District Office, 6 Dows Lane on Tuesday - Thursday, June 27 - 29th and Wednesday, July 5th from 8:00am - 3:00pm and until 6:00pm on Thursday, July 6th. July 6th is the last day to register to vote in the Special Election.

Voters who will be out of the district on July 11, 2017 may vote via Absentee Ballot. Important dates to keep in mind if voting via Absentee Ballot are:

July 3, 2017 is the deadline to submit an absentee ballot application if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter.

July 10, 2017 is the deadline to submit an absentee ballot application if the ballot is to be picked up by the voter at 6 Dows Lane, Irvington, NY.

July 11, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. is the deadline for absentee ballots to be received by the district clerk

Please click here or go to the district's website and click on the link "2017 Special Election".

Since the absentee ballot is due on Monday, I wanted to get this out as soon as possible.
