The Friends of the Irvington Library announces lecture with award-winning author and gardener, Marta McDowell on her book Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life: The Plants and Places that Inspired the Classic Children’s Tales. McDowell teaches landscape history and horticulture at New York Botanical Garden, authored Emily Dickinson’s Gardens and is finishing a new book on the history of American gardening as seen through the White House grounds, due out April 2016.
