The patrol division is the backbone of the Irvington Police Department. This division, led by Lieutenant Michael Morano, is responsible for providing 24 hour a day, 7 days a week police services in the Village. These services include responding to all calls for service, preliminary investigations, collection of evidence, preserving peace, enforcing laws, deterring crime and maintaining order while generally ensuring the safety and security of all.
The division is comprised of 16 sworn and 4 civilian members of the department. The patrol division also includes the Traffic Unit which consists of one full time sworn member dedicated to traffic enforcement duties. The civilian members of the patrol division include one parking enforcement officer and three school crossing guards.
