Community Campaigns
In 2021, the Village of Irvington launched two Community Campaigns: GridRewards and EnergySmart Homes. See below for more information about how each campaign works, as well as information on the benefits of the programs and how you can participate.
GridRewards
The Mayors of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, and Irvington partnered with Sustainable Westchester, Logical Buildings, and Con Edison to bring residents the GridRewards™ program. It is an easy energy action that lowers your carbon footprint, saves you money & EARNS you cash! GridRewards is an app that sends you a text message on peak energy usage days alerting you to reduce usage. You will probably get between 5 and 10 texts this summer. All you need to do is lower your usage on those days - if you do, you’ll get a check from Con Edison for helping to reduce the load on the grid when it’s most under strain. There is no cost to participate (the app is free), there is no contract agreement you just need to be a Con Edison customer (renters and businesses qualify).

EnergySmart Homes Rivertowns
The Villages of Irvington, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, alongside the Irvington Green Policy Task Force, Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Council and Sleepy Hollow Environmental Advisory Committee have partnered with Sustainable Westchester to bring EnergySmart Homes Rivertowns to our community. With rebates and incentives available from NYSERDA and your utility, you have the opportunity to significantly reduce your home energy consumption, lower your energy bills, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the year-round comfort and value of your home.
