The Village of Irvington has a long history of initiatives aimed at addressing climate change and sustainability. The Climate Protection Task Force, predecessor to the current Green Policy Task Force, was formed in the mid-2000s and produced a report in 2008 that is still relevant today.
Today, the Green Policy Task Force helps guide the way on environmental issues. Their EcoIrvington.org web site contains a wealth of information. Feel free to take a few moments to explore!
Current initiatives include the Climate Smart Communities certification, Clean Energy Communities and various community campaigns aimed at saving energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
