Open Gym

Friday Open Gym 
4th & 5th Grade

Register now at the Rec. Dept.
The Rec. Dept. will be open until 7p.m. on Oct. 18th

Fridays- Oct. 27, Nov. 3, 17, Dec. 15, Jan. 5, 19, Feb. 2, 16, March. 2, 9
Note: This program follows school weather cancellations.
Time: 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Ages: 4th & 5th graders
Fee: $60 
Location: Main Street School Gym 
Pre-registration at the Rec. Dept. required. 
This program will consist of supervised free play, which may include the following activities but not limited to basketball, wiffle ball, kickball, and soccer. No drop ins allowed. A membership card will be issued to every registered member. This program is made possible with funds from the FACE Committee.

OPEN GYM RULES

2017-18

-These rules will be strictly enforced-

  1. NO ONE will be allowed into the program without showing his or her valid ‘17/’18 OPEN GYM MEMBERSHIP CARD with parent’s signature.  Previous years cards will NOT allow you into the program.

  1. IMPORTANT:  Guests are allowed ONLY if (1) permission is given by the Recreation Department by 3:00 on Friday afternoon and (2) if their guest is in the same age group as the particular session they will be participating (i.e. 4th-5th grade). Any guests who arrive that are not registered will not be eligible to participate.

  1. NO food or drink allowed in gym. (This includes lollipops and gum- bottled drinks are allowed in the hallway- NO GLASS).

  1. All participants MUST wear sneakers. NO shoes or work boots permitted on gym floor. NO playing in socks.

  1. There will be NO profane language or gestures tolerated.

  1. NO Football or any other games that are played across the length of the gym unless the entire group is engaged in the activity.

  1. Participants are NOT permitted to climb on bleachers or any other gym equipment. No one is allowed in the locker rooms or equipment closet.

  1. Participants MUST remain inside the building until the program is complete. A parent may write a note to allow a child to leave early but once a child leaves the building, he/she will not be allowed to re-enter the building.

*Parents please be advised, the recreation department will NOT be responsible for your child once they leave the Main Street School grounds.

  1. No scooters or skateboards are permitted to be used in front of the gym entrance.

  1. The Rec. Dept. is not responsible for any electronic devises including but not limited to phones, ipods, etc. that a student my choose to bring to Open Gym.

IMPORTANT Note to Parents: It is imperative that you are on time to pick up your child. This will help eliminate a “hang-out” situation. Continued tardiness will result in consequences.
